Mary E. Lassiter

Mary has worked in budgeting, policy and financial management roles for the Commonwealth for twenty-four years. Mary currently serves as State Budget Director, a position she previously held in 2003 on an Acting basis. From 1999 through 2007, she served as the Deputy Executive Director of the Governor's Office for Policy Research, within the Office of the State Budget Director, and as a special assistant to the State Budget Director. Previously, she served as a financial analyst in the Office for Financial Management and Economic Analysis for 15 years, which operates the Commonwealth's investment and debt management programs. Mary has served as a special assistant to Governors Wilkinson and Patton on economic development and workers' compensation issues, and worked with Governor Fletcher on taxation, energy, and related policy issues. She holds both a BBA and MBA from the University of Kentucky, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Long Term Policy Research Center since 1999.
